Angels Gymnastics Club International competition rules and regulations

Angels Gymnastics RG & AGG Competitive Program

Our competitive program follows the international standards of FIG (International Gymnastics Federation) and IFAGG (International Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics). Our gymnasts receive training from FIG brevet judges, professional ballet choreographers, and rhythmic gymnastics coaches whose coaching diplomas are approved by the UAE government.

Competition Participation
International competitions will be selected by Angels Gymnastics Club. Coaches will determine each gymnast's participation level and the number of apparatus based on the competition requirements. Competitions, both local and international, primarily take place on weekends, including Sundays, and may also occur during holiday periods.

Angels Gymnastics will select international competitions held within and outside the UAE, whether in-person or online, based on our gymnasts’ age categories, levels, required apparatus, and readiness throughout the season.

Competitive Program Levels

  • AGG and RG – Club Gala: 1 group routine, 2 training sessions per week.

  • AGG – Club Competitions: 1 IFAGG group routine, 2 training sessions per week.

  • AGG – International Level Group Competitions: 1 IFAGG group routine, 2-3 training sessions per week.

Accommodation Guidelines
Coaches will stay at organizer-selected hotels that are clean and reasonably priced. Parents and gymnasts may choose to stay at different hotels; however, those who do must adhere strictly to the team schedule. The team will not wait for late individuals.

If a gymnast attends an international competition or masterclass, she must stay with her parents at the same hotel. If she attends without her parents, responsibility falls under the Angels Gymnastics team manager, and parents must prepare a notarized letter delegating responsibility to the designated person.

Competition Schedule and Supervision
Angels Gymnastics will provide the competition itinerary and schedule before departure from Dubai. Gymnasts must follow the team schedule and stay with the team throughout the competition days, from morning to evening, according to the competition’s timetable. During free time, gymnasts should be supervised by their parents.

If a gymnast represents her country under her national gymnastics federation, Angels Gymnastics will support her as needed according to her country’s competition rules. However, Angels Gymnastics will not provide coaches to accompany her.

Registration for the international competitions including 4 steps;

  1. Registration Period and Costs: All competition registrations must be completed by the specified deadlines. Important Notes

  • All competitions are non-profit organizations, and competition expenses are shared among parents based on the number of gymnasts. Deposits are required to secure registration, booking, and money transfers.

  • Course fees do not cover training during holiday periods. If a competition falls within a holiday, additional training sessions will be scheduled.

  • Angels Gymnastics provides:

    • 2 coaches for 10 gymnasts

    • 3 coaches for 11 or more gymnasts

For each competition, a coach and a judge are mandatory. All coaches' expenses, including flights, accommodation, visa fees, transportation, food, coaching and judging fees, and other travel costs, will be shared among parents according to the number of gymnasts and the type of competition. Each gymnast's competition expenses, including flight, hotel, visa fees, transportation, food, competition registration fees, masterclass fees, and other travel costs, will be borne by their parents.

  • Visa Requirements: If a visa is required, the process must be handled by the parents and applied for at least one month before the competition. Angels Gymnastics will provide an official letter to the embassy but is not responsible if the visa is denied.

Angels Gymnastics Club Uniforms and Equipment
All gymnasts participating in international competitions must have the official Angels Gymnastics Club equipment, including a wheel bag, tracksuit, t-shirts, training outfits, competition leotards, and competition shoes. For masterclasses, each gymnast is required to have a complete set of apparatus (ankle and wrist weights are not permitted). Parents will receive a checklist before each competition.

Gymnasts’ Code of Conduct
Representing the Angels Gymnastics Dubai Team is an honor, not a right. All selected gymnasts are seen as leaders who represent the club and the community. Gymnasts are expected to conduct themselves at all times in a manner that reflects positively on themselves and Angels Gymnastics.
Sportsmanship and Fair Play
Good sportsmanship requires both gymnasts and coaches to commit to fair play, ethical behavior, and integrity. Sportsmanship is defined by generosity, respect, and genuine concern for others. Gymnasts are expected to lead by example.

Parental Support
Our gymnasts train hard and need your support in various ways:

  • Encouraging Positive Feedback: Focus on finding something positive about each performance. More importantly, ask the gymnast how they think they did rather than offering your opinion. Rhythmic gymnasts are the best judges of their own performances, as only they know if they have met their goals. Respect their opinions while encouraging good sportsmanship, as they are the future coaches, judges, parents, and audience members of the sport.

  • Support Your Daughter’s Personal Growth: Encourage her to compete with herself rather than others.

  • Provide Healthy Nutrition: Ensure that your child has access to healthy food and drinks at home.

  • Allow Rest and Recovery: Ensure your daughter gets enough rest and sleep to recover from training and competitions.

  • Support Academic Success: Help them balance their academic and training commitments.

  • Attend Competitions: Be present at competitions to provide moral support.

Parental Code of Conduct
As a parent of a gymnast on the Angels team, you are expected to:

  • Support Angels Gymnastics Club and ensure your child abides by the gymnast’s code of conduct.

  • Refrain from any verbal abuse towards gymnasts, coaches, judges, opponents, or spectators during or after competitions.

  • Avoid interfering with or distracting gymnasts during competitions or practices.

  • Stay in designated spectator areas during all meets and practices.

  • Adhere to and respect all facility rules and regulations.

  • Pick up and drop off your child at practice and competitions at the times requested by the coach or head of delegation.

  • Refrain from making negative, abusive, or derogatory comments about Angels Gymnastics athletes, opponents, judges, or spectators, whether verbally, in writing, or on social media.

  • Avoid possessing or using alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs while attending competitions or training sessions.

  • Do not engage in coaching or giving instructions to gymnasts during competitions or practices. All comments should be limited to encouragement and support.

  • Absolutely no coaching from the sidelines is permitted.

  • Address concerns privately and respectfully. Do not voice issues concerning your child or coach in front of other parents or gymnasts. Discuss any concerns directly with the team manager or coach, either in person or via email, after a 24-hour period has passed since the issue arose.

International Level Competition Agreement

At Angels Gymnastics, we take these codes of conduct seriously to ensure a safe, professional, and nurturing environment for all our gymnasts. Parents are expected to adhere to these codes in the best interest of their child. The Angels Gymnastics Competitive Program Director, Manager, or Coach will address any issues with parents as they arise. However, please be aware that you may not always receive a prior warning before actions are taken in response to any violations of the code of conduct.

Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in your child’s removal from current and future competitions. The Parents’ Code of Conduct has been established to protect the interests of gymnasts, parents, and coaches and to continually enhance the environment and services provided by Angels Gymnastics.
